The Merrill PTA runs off of donations of money, items, and time.

Friend of Merrill
Becoming a Friend of Merrill means donating money to support all of the things the PTA does throughout the year to enrich life at Merrill. Money raised through Friends of Merrill will go toward:
- Providing dinner at the Fall and Spring Community Nights
- Teacher Appreciation initiatives year-round
- Supporting a special experience/ field trip for each grade level
- A celebration for our 8th graders at the end of their time at Merrill
- Books for the library
- A t-shirt for every incoming 6th grader
- Other needs as identified
All of this is only possible with the financial support of our community, and any donation amount is appreciated!

Teacher Appreciation
The Teacher Appreciation Committee works throughout the school year to organize events and solicit donations to help our teachers and staff know how appreciated they are! We keep a running Sign-Up Genius for items needed at any given time, for things such as:
- A monthly visit by the Fridge Fairy to bring snacks and drinks to the Teachers' Lounge
- A meal provided for the teachers at Fall and Spring conferences
- Teacher Appreciation Week in May
- Other needs/ events that may be planned for the teachers

Amazon Wish Lists
The PTA helps maintain an Amazon wish list, comprised of supplies and items
that Merrill teachers have requested for their classrooms.
Purchases from this list are sent directly to the school.
Merrill PE Teacher Miss Simmer maintains a list of items that she uses to stock a Comfort Closet accessible to all Merrill students. Most requested items include snacks, deodorant, band aids, chapstick, hair ties, and cough drops.
Box Tops for Education
Download the new Box Tops app, shop as you normally do, then scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school’s Box Tops earnings online. Then twice a year, Merrill will receive a check and can use that cash to buy whatever it needs.
